Holm Pharmacy — Multi-Site Pharmacy Locator
Holm Pharmacy came to us with a clear brief and a realistic budget. They didn’t need a complex e-commerce platform or a marketing-heavy website — they needed something straightforward: a professional online presence that told people where their pharmacies were, what each one offered, and how to find them. Simple in concept, but only if it’s built the right way.
The Challenge
With multiple pharmacy locations across the region, the main problem wasn’t design — it was management. A static website would mean going back to a developer every time a new branch opened, an address changed, or a service was added or removed. That’s an ongoing cost nobody wants. The client needed something they could genuinely maintain themselves, without technical knowledge, and without it becoming a recurring expense.
What We Built
We built a bespoke store directory system on WordPress, powered by a custom-built plugin developed specifically for Holm Pharmacy. Rather than adapting an off-the-shelf solution, we created something that integrates natively into the WordPress admin — giving the client a clean, purpose-built interface for managing their branches. Every pharmacy location lives as its own entry, editable directly from the dashboard with no technical knowledge required and no developer needed for day-to-day updates.
Each pharmacy entry captures everything a customer needs: the branch name, full address, opening hours, contact details, and the specific services available at that location — whether that’s a dispensary, consultation room, travel vaccinations, or NHS services. Adding a new branch in future is as simple as creating a new post.
The Store Finder
The centrepiece of the site is the store locator layout. Each pharmacy page features an embedded map so visitors can immediately orient themselves — no copying an address into Google separately, no hunting around for directions. The map sits alongside the branch information cleanly, giving users everything they need on one screen.
The directory view lets visitors scan all locations at a glance, with enough information visible upfront to identify which branch is most convenient for them before they even click through. On mobile — where most pharmacy searches happen — the layout adapts so the map and key details remain front and centre without requiring any horizontal scrolling or zooming.
The Result
Holm Pharmacy got exactly what they asked for: a professional, functional website delivered at a sensible cost, with no ongoing dependency on a developer for routine updates. The custom plugin we built means a new branch can be live on the website in minutes, not days — and the client has full control over every piece of information displayed.
It’s a good example of what the right brief produces. Not every website needs to be ambitious. Sometimes the most valuable thing a web studio can do is listen carefully, scope the right solution, and build something that actually fits how a business operates.
